Rumored to move to Lazio, David Silva apparently joined Real Sociedad

DBasia.news – Shocking news came from former Manchester City midfielder, David Silva. He was previously rumored to leave for Lazio, but the 34-year-old midfielder has actually joined Real Sociedad!

Previously, Silva was said to have agreed to sign a three-year contract with Lazio. The schedule for medical tests in Rome has also reportedly been prepared. But lately the player has been hesitant to move to the Olimpico and has been difficult to contact.

This gesture has made Lazio worried. Sure enough, it seems that Sociedad has secretly contacted Silva’s side, and succeeded in cornering Lazio in obtaining the services of the 2010 World Cup winner.

“Real Sociedad has officially signed David Silva. The player came for free from Manchester City and will sign a contract until June 30, 2022,” wrote the official Sociedad Instagram account, Tuesday (18/8/2020) AM.

Silva is indeed on a free transfer this summer. His contract lasts until August 24 at City, assuming Pep Guardiola’s side would advance to the Champions League final.

However, with City eliminating City in the quarter-finals by Lyon, it looked as if Silva could leave faster, and Sociedad was chosen as the next port. His transfer-free status makes it free for him to negotiate with any party.

Italian journalist and transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, said that Lazio were furious with Silva’s side who had secretly turned to take another offer. Together with Sociedad, Silva will appear in the Europa League next season.
