Santiago Solari’s Response Regarding Jose Mourinho’s Comeback to Real Madrid

DBasia.news –  Barcelona undermined Real Madrid’s hopes of winning the Copa del Rey and LaLiga titles in two consecutive matches called El Clasico. All of that happens in a relatively short time.

The Blaugrana eliminated Madrid 4-1 on aggregate after winning 3-0 in the Copa del Rey semi-final second leg which took place at the Santiago Bernabeu. In the same place, different event (LaLiga), Barca won 1-0 again.

Not only eliminated from the Copa del Rey, but Madrid’s hopes were also thin to fight for the LaLiga title because it is now 12 points adrift of Barcelona at the top of the table. In the end, the fate of Santiago Solari as coach of Madrid was in the spotlight.

Substitution from Julen Lopetegui to Solari was unable to lift Madrid’s appearance. Some candidates emerged as coaches who could potentially replace Solari, one of which was Jose Mourinho.

The Special One did not rule out the possibility of re-training the club he had defended in mid-2010-2013. There, Mourinho presented a LaLiga title, the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup. A great note, when Barca was victorious in the era of Pep Guardiola.

Solari responded to Mourinho’s comments. Not taking it seriously, Solari instead carried the name of a beautiful American artist, Julia Roberts.

“This club has more and more visitors than Julia Roberts. This (rumor) seems quite normal for me,” Solari said in a press conference session ahead of the Champions League match against Ajax Amsterdam, quoted from Goal.

When turning to technical play, Solari seriously responded to media questions and stressed, that he did not doubt the playing character owned by Sergio Ramos et al, despite losing two consecutive games in the last two games against Barcelona.

“It’s a mixture of many things. It’s part of our work, to improve what we have to improve. Sometimes, the ball hits the crossbar, goes in, and sometimes it doesn’t,” Solari added.

“It’s true that we have a lot of opportunities in the game, a little in the last game. We have to detail it, this is football.”

“These players have experience and character. They have a clear awareness to give everything and do a good job, which is not enough to win matches. When we don’t win, we are not happy, because we always want to win,” said the Argentine coach that is.
