Sarri Calls Drinkwater’s Playstyle Not Following Chelsea’s Tactics

Danny Drinkwater

DBasia.news –  The name of the Chelsea midfielder, Danny Drinkwater, has suddenly been discussed again recently following charges against him in connection with a drunken driving violation.

Since being brought in from Leicester City for a fee of 35 million pounds in the 2017/18 season, Danny Drinkwater was unable to compete with his midfield counterparts and was unable to get high playing time in his first season at Stamford Bridge.

Throughout this season Drinkwater has only appeared in the preseason series and the Community Shield match against Manchester City. The Blues manager, Maurizio Sarri, revealed that the player with the back number 6 did not match the tactics he used.

“Danny Drinkwater did not appear at all this season because he did not match the system and game scheme I wanted to implement. I have informed him about this in August 2018. Drinkwater appreciated my decision but decided to stay here, so he understood the situation he felt, “Maurizio Sarri said in a statement quoted from Sky Sports.

Although N’Golo Kante managed to adapt to the scheme of the game applied by Sarri, the Italian manager did not consider Drinkwater to do the same thing, which made him say to the 29-year-old that he could leave Stamford Bridge in the season transfer window hot 2018.
