DBasia.news – Italian 59-year-old manager, Maurizio Sarri, held his first press conference after appointed to train Chelsea, replacing his compatriot, Antonio Conte.
“I am really pleased to be here in London, in England,’ he said, ‘and it is a pleasure to be in the Premier League, at the moment the best championship in the world. I am very happy to be here at Chelsea,” said Sarri opening the press conference in English.
During the conference, the journalists asked Sarri about the summer transfer market, which probably eliminates some Chelsea players and replaced by the new one.
The Napoli former player explained, he prefers to talk eye-to-eye with every player and train them for 4-5 days, to know the current situation from the player and internal club.
“Clearly we would always like to keep all the strongest players, this what any manager wants to do and any club wants but we will have to see how the transfer market will be over the next few days,” said Sarri, released in Chelsea official site.
“But, I feel much more a pitch manager than a general manager, I think I am one of the few managers who is bored by the transfer market. I don’t want to talk about it and I am not that interested in it. I think our task as managers is growing the players we have.”
Moreover, Sarri also talked about Eden Hazard who is believed to upgrade his skill under his leadership. Sarri can maximize Lorenzo Insigne and Dries Mertens talent with similar playing style like Hazard. Mertens was once playing in the same team with Hazard in Belgium national team.
“Hazard is a high-level player and I think he is one of the top two or three European players. I would like to have fun during the week with him, this would mean good results and being competitive at the end of the season,” Sarri added.
“I hope I will manage to improve him, this is very difficult as he is at a high level,” he uttered.
