Sarri’s Unique Relationship with Higuain

DBasia.news – Gonzalo Higuain and Maurizio Sarri have a unique relationship between a player and coach. Sarri knows how to maximize the quality of Higuain.

Sarri always brings Higuain with him wherever he trains. The two have worked together at three different clubs namely Napoli, Chelsea and Juventus.

Higuain’s best season as an attacker also occurred when playing under the direction of Sarri, precisely in the 2015-2016 season. He was able to score 36 goals in 35 matches in Serie A and won the top scoring title.

After that, Higuain’s productivity did decline slowly. But Sarri still believes in his abilities.

The 61-year-old coach has a unique way to bring out the maximum ability of Higuain. Sarri is often harsh, which sometimes causes a feud between the two.

“I always read (news), that I cause trouble with everyone. In fact, the only person I often fight with is Higuain,” Sarri said as quoted by Goal International.

“I don’t know why that is? Maybe because he needs a rather aggressive opponent to bring out the best in him.”

Higuain’s goal productivity is starting to slowly decline. But Sarri never doubted his ability.

Higuain considered Sarri to have a champion mentality. But the weakness is that it is difficult to maintain his physical condition to remainsexcellent.

“When he feels sad, he needs to be treated. When he is on top, he must be played because he can be too carried away (big headed),” he added.

In this season, Higuain’s performance has declined. He was only able to score nine goals in 37 matches in all competitions.

But that is understandable as Higuain is not the first choice on the Juventus front line. He only became a coating for Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala.
