DBasia.news – Julian Alvarez, new Manchester City signing, is in regular contact with legend Sergio Aguero, about what it takes to be successful at the Etihad Stadium.
Alvarez made a positive early impression with the reigning Premier League champions, scoring his first goal for the club in the Community Shield.
The 22-year-old Argentine player has made Aguero his mentor.
“Sergio told me a few things about what it was like to work under Pep [Guardiola],” Alvarez told Sky Sports.
“He told me about how training was going at City. He told me about the city of Manchester itself. I spoke to him at the time of my signing and again over the last few days and weeks as well.”
“He has given me all kinds of different advice, all of which I have obviously listened to very carefully, with this being a whole new world for me to move to Manchester. I want to listen to everything Sergio has to say so I can adapt as quickly as possible to life in England.”
City have pulled Alvarez from River Plate with one eye on the future, having also paid 51 million pounds (61 million dollars) for Erling Haaland this summer.
Alvarez believes that he can work with the Norwegian star.
“He’s a big player, a great player. I’ve seen him a lot, scoring goals all over Europe. It’s great for a young player like me to play with the best so you can learn. It’s a great position. Who I’m paired with, what matters is City win,” continued Alvarez.
