Sergio Aguero still wants to play for the Argentine national team

DBasia.news – Sergio Aguero has officially retired. But his determination to defend the Argentine national team in the 2022 World Cup has not faded.

As is known, Aguero was forced to retire early due to health problems. He experienced an arrhythmia or heart rate abnormality while defending Barcelona against Alaves, October 30.

After undergoing further examination, Aguero’s heart problem turned out to have been more severe than expected. The doctor who examined him advised him to retire as his life was at stake if he continued to play.

Aguero then announced his retirement 1.5 months after the incident. He had to bury his dream to add to his trophy collection both at club and national level.

Canceling competing in the 2022 World Cup seems to be the most severe blow for Aguero. Even though this event could be a moment of farewell to the Argentine national team.

However, Aguero hopes to be involved in the 2022 World Cup again. A role seems to have been prepared by the Argentine national team for the 33-year-old player.

“I’m heading to the Qatar World Cup. There was an idea to join the coaching staff, I spoke with (Lionel) Scaloni and also with Chiqui Tapia,” Aguero told Radio 10.

“This week we have a meeting and I want to be there. We have to try it.”

The role of assistant coach is very likely to be carried out by Aguero. He can hone the Argentine strikers to appear sharper and not depend on the figure of Lionel Messi.

Even so, Aguero does not seem too concerned with what position will be given. He just wants to help his former team mates to perform optimally and win the title.

“If it wasn’t with the national team, I would still go and be with the players. I would go to motivate them,” he added.

Argentina has indeed secured a ticket to the 2022 World Cup finals. The status as a Copa America champion will strengthen the Albiceleste’s confidence to add to the trophy collection.
