DBasia.news – The Spanish National Team received good news ahead of challenging Poland in the second match of Group E of the 2020 European Cup . Sergio Busquets has rejoined after recovering from the corona virus (COVID-19).
As is known, Busquets was tested positive with COVID-19 less than a week before the 2020 European Cup began. It had disrupted the preparation of the Spanish national team.
Even so, Luis Enrique as the Spanish coach did not cross out Busquets. He believes the Barcelona midfielder can recover quickly and can appear in the European Cup.
The gamble is now paying off. Busquets has tested negative for COVID-19 after undergoing self-isolation at his residence.
“Sergio Busquets showed a negative result in the last PCR test result and after all the health protocols have been met, he will be able to return to the national team,” the statement read.
Even though he is 32 years old, Busquets’ role in the Spanish national team is still very vital. He certainly understands Enrique’s game philosophy well as he has worked together at Barcelona.
Enrique was also unable to retain his joy at Busquets’ return. He even intends to immediately play the player in the match against Poland.
“Busquets has been training and has been asymptomatic all day so he is in perfect condition. We will chat and see how he feels, but it is clear he will not be ruled out for the game against Poland,” Enrique told UEFA’s official website.
Without Busquets’ presence, Spain started Euro 2020 less smoothly. La Furia Roja was only able to play a goalless draw against Sweden.
Naturally, if the victory is a fixed price in the match against Poland. The additional three points will indeed clear the way for Spain to reach the 16th round.
