Sergio Ramos Equalized Iker Casillas’ record in the Spanish national team

DBasia.news –  Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos equalized Iker Casillas’ appearance in the Spanish national team when he helped his team win a landslide victory over the Faroe Islands in the 2020 European Championship Qualification.

Spain won 4-0 over Faroe at El Molinon on Monday (9/9), through two goals scored by Rodrigo and Paco Alcacer. La Furia Roja firmly at the top of Group F with 18 points from five matches that have taken place.

Ramos, 33, appeared in the match and increased the number of caps to 167. This number equalizes the record of another Madrid and Spanish legend, Iker Casillas, as Spain’s most performers of all-time.

“What Sergio Ramos has done is very great. He is one of the best in the world will continue to be remembered. He won two European Cups, one World Cup, and it is an honor for us to have him here as captain,” said Barcelona captain and Ramos’ compatriot, Sergio Busquets, in the AS.

“What he has done is fantastic and the best, he still has something to give us. You have to admire him, either as a player or personally. I want to say how much he helped my work and I am grateful for this,” added Robert Moreno, Spanish national team coach.

The number of appearances can still be increased because so far there is no indication of a decline in the performance of Ramos. Not only did he record the most appearances, but the former Sevilla player was also in the top 10 of Spain’s all-time top scoring list with 21 goals scored.
