DBasia.news – Former Manchester City player, Shaun Goater, believes Raheem Sterling will reject the chance to join Real Madrid in the future for the sake of development in Man City.
Raheem Sterling continues to show increasing charts at Manchester City. In this season, the 24-year player has gained 14 goals plus five assists in 16 matches.
In the summer transfer window of 2019, Sterling was briefly linked with Real Madrid. Los Blancos wants to make Sterling the main player in the wing position.
With Sterling’s performance increasing, Real Madrid is predicted to come back with bids in the upcoming transfer market. However, Shaun Goater has asked Sterling to stay at Manchester City.
“I see where Sterling currently is, Manchester City, has the best manager, winning the Premier League, and struggled to win the Champions League,” Goater explained as reported by the Daily Star.
“Meanwhile, Real Madrid were really disappointed last season. Then, Sterling will see what Madrid did to Gareth Bale. Bale performed well, but was treated improperly.”
“Sterling will think that Real Madrid is not the right team at the moment. He is still young and can defend Manchester City in five years. I don’t know why he has to leave,” Goater said.
