DBasia.news – Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi is grateful for the support received during the summer transfer window at his new club.
Most recently, Inter managed to beat Hellas Verona with a score of 3-1 in the second Serie A giornata at the Marcantonio Bentegodi Stadium, Saturday (28/8) early morning WIB.
Having fallen behind to a goal from Ivan Ilic (15′), Inter responded in the second half via Lautaro Martinez (47′) and a pair of goals from Joaquin Correa (83′, 90’+4).
Correa made his dream debut just a day after completing his move from Lazio. The Argentine striker came on for Martinez in the 74th minute.
Inzaghi said it was important for Inter to reinvest after the departure of the old pillars, namely Romelu Lukaku and Achraf Hakimi. The performance of Correa – his former team at Lazio – shows the fans that they have reason to be optimistic.
“Good question, I am satisfied with what I see every day,” said Inzaghi post-match when asked how Inter compared to last season.
“Hakimi, I’ve never coached him. I know he’s very good but I’ve never seen him on the pitch. Lukaku, I coached him for a week and he’s very strong. But he’s made a choice,” said the 45-year-old tactician.
“Even so, the club managed to move quickly by signing [Edin] Dzeko, [Denzel] Dumfries and Correa in just 10 days. They really gave me a competitive squad.”
Noted, the arrival of seven new players Inter this time. The other four names are: Alex Cordaz, Hakan Calhanoglu, Matteo Darmian, and Zinho Vanheusden.
Inter occupy the top of the standings with a collection of six points. In the first match, the Nerazzurri thrashed Genoa 4-0 with a goal and an assist each from Calhanoglu and Dzeko.
