Simone Inzaghi Stays Calm as Inter Milan Getting Considered Not Superior

DBasia.news – Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi admitted that he was not too bothered by the notion that his team was not a strong favorite to win the Scudetto, despite its status as defending champions.

Inter’s status as the main seed this season is in doubt. That can’t be separated from the fact that they sold two of their star players, Achraf Hakimi and Romelu Lukaku.

Without the presence of both, Inter’s strength is predicted to weaken. This will make it difficult for La Beneamata to compete with other big teams.

Inzaghi did not deny the departure of Hakimi and Lukaku had a big impact for Inter. But he believes the role of both can be replaced by other players.

“There were divestments like (Achraf) Hakimi, then the problem of (Christian) Eriksen and the unexpected separation of (Romelu) Lukaku. We knew something was missing but I’m happy with the arrival so far,” said Inzaghi at a press conference ahead of the match against Genoa. .

“(Edin) Dzeko became one of my requests, we all know (Hakan) Calhanoglu well and (Denzel) Dumfries is very interesting.”

Inzaghi is quite optimistic about his team’s chances of repeating last season’s success. However, he was reluctant to predict the competition map for Serie A 2021-2022.

“I just want to say that Inter will be an ambitious team with motivation. I can say that we will work and do our best to keep the Scudetto we have on our chests.”

“We will do everything to make sure everything goes smoothly. We know there will be difficulties this season, but I believe in what I have seen over these 45 days.”

Inzaghi must prove his optimism on the pitch. Victory over Genoa in the opening match was one way.
