Six LaLiga Players Enter the Musical World

If we see it more detail, football and music are two things going hand in hand. Music is always accompanying football, from the chant of the fans to the high-spirited songs in dressing room before the match begins.

Here are some players who prove their talent as a musician:
Sergio Ramos
As a big fan of Flamenco music, the Real Madrid captain has the deep admiration for singing and playing guitar. Ramos shows his interest to music and often spends his time to write the song. He also contributed to the official song of Spain national team in 2016 Euro and 2018 World Cup, where he collaborated with top musiicans like Nina Pastori and Demarco.
The alumni of Real Madrid has been interested in musical world for a long time, until he formed a raggaeton band with his close friend, DJ Nuno, in 2014. The ‘Big Flow’ band released the songs in Youtube and enjoyed by music lovers. Not too long after that, Jese decided to have a solo career and releases his songs under the name Jey M. He also donated the profit to the foundation for disease prevention.
Royston Drenthe
The former Real Madrid winger, Royston Drenthe, explored the rap music career under hte name ‘Roya2Faces in the end of his career as a football player. His decision to join the musical world wasn’t only surprising for the people around him. Drenthe has been interested in rap and has many friends in that industry, especially U-Niq, who also comes from Rotterdam, Netherlands, and taught him how to write a song. Even though Drenthe returned to football and joined Sparta Rotterdam in this summer, he still loves to play the hip-hop music and wants to compose more songs in the future.
Julio Iglesias
Julio Iglesias is one of the famoust singers in Spain and other Spanish-speaking countries. In 2013, he was chosen by Guinness World Records as Best Selling Latin Artist of all time. Moreover, Julio’s album in 1983 was the foreign language album that sold for 2 million copies in the US>
Before entering the musical world, the Madrid player supported Real Madrid Castilla, the B team for the city. The injury made him retired and started his career in singing.
German Burgos
The former Atletico Madrid goalkeeper and the assistant Diego Simeone is currenty the big fan of music, especially the rock music. Since 1990s, he is the vocalist of rock band, GARB, who released some Spanish albums in 2000s when his career as a football player declining. GARB was taken from the initial of Burgos, Germán Adrian Ramon Burgos.
Gaizka Mendieta
After retiring from football, the former midfielder of Valencia, Barcelona, and Spain national team, Gaizka Mendieta, changed his direction to a DJ in 2008, and gained a huge success. He often plays around London, even invited to be the DJ in the Champions League match between Real Madrid against Juventus in Cardiff in 2017. Mendieta who is the LaLiga ambassador, was often seen in the musical stores during his time as a football player. And now, he dedicates most of his time to the second love of his life, music.
