Solskjaer Asks Manchester United Players to be Optimistic That They Can Win the Premier League Title This Season

DBasia.news – Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer asked his men to have faith that they can win the Premier League title this season.

Currently MU is ranked eighth in the Premier League standings. The Red Devils are eight points behind Liverpool, who are currently at the top of the standings. If they are able to win over Sheffield United on Friday (18/12), United will move up to the sixth ladder, shifting Chelsea.

Solskjaer stressed his players to believe that they can still win this season. He believes that his team’s play is increasing every week.

“I will be disappointed if the players don’t think we have a chance to win the Premier League,” Solskjaer said as quoted by ESPN.

“I feel we are getting better, but we have to improve a little more to take the next step too,” added the manager.

Like other clubs in the Premier League, United are also faced with a busy schedule at the end of the year. Sheffield United are the starters of a busy United agenda which faces six games in a span of 16 days over Christmas and New Year.

After facing Sheffield, the Red Devils will face Leeds, Everton, Leicester and Wolves before hosting Aston Villa at Old Trafford.

“This is a big game for us. After the Aston Villa game in the New Year, we have a little rest in the league. This period will be important,” explained Solskjaer.

For this reason, Solskjaer asked his players to remain confident that they could still compete in the race for the Premier League trophy. Because everything can still change.

“I think this season will be very unpredictable and have ups and downs. Anyone who is consistent and keeps his energy up will have a better chance than the last few seasons, because there are several teams that are likely to win,” said Solskjaer.

“Even though we have six games in less than 16 days, we still have to focus one game on another, if you don’t focus, you can lose points,” he continued.
