DBasia.news – Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer defended his team which received criticism from various parties. According to Solskjaer, The Red Devils appear consistent.
Until the eighth match, Manchester United was ranked 13th in the Premier League standings. The Red Devils reaped four wins, one draw and three defeats.
These conditions made Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s performance in the spotlight. The manager from Norway was deemed not capable enough to coach Manchester United.
Increasingly cornered, Solskjaer defended. According to him, Manchester United are on the right track.
“We live in the business of results and I want Man United to develop as a team and a club. I have very good talks with the team all the time,” Solskjaer said as reported by Sky Sports.
“You have to think long term and short term. I would never think this is an opportunity to prove a point and it’s all about me.”
“That’s not the problem here. Every decision I make is for the good of Manchester United.”
“For me, it’s about results and if it continues to improve, we have a very good chance because the team is growing rapidly,” said the manager.
Last season, Manchester United secured a place in the Champions League. Apart from that, The Red Devils also reached three trophy semifinals. According to Solskjaer, these results describe Man United as being consistent.
“Teams that win in the league produce good and consistent performances. I know this is uncertain, but if you look at the last 40 games with this team, we won two, drew one. Then, we won twice and lost one time. So, we are consistent,” said Solskjaer.
