Solskjaer challenges Manchester United’s striker

DBasia.news – Manchester United coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has challenged his forwards to reduce the burden on Cristiano Ronaldo. Solskjaer does not want Ronaldo to bear the task of scoring goals alone.

Since returning to Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo has proven that he still deserves the status of a dangerous striker. Even though he is 36 years old, Ronaldo has scored four goals in three matches in various competitions.

However, there are concerns that Manchester United will be too dependent on Cristiano Ronaldo. The Red Devils feared that it would be difficult to score goals if Ronaldo was not in his best form.

“No, of course not,” replied Solskjaer when asked if Cristiano Ronaldo was shouldering the burden of scoring goals alone, the Mirror reported.

“Marcus Rashford is not back yet. However, of course Anthony Martial, Jadon Sancho and Edinson Cavani will score goals,” continued the manager.

“That burden has to be shared with others, that’s for sure. Paul Pogba will also score goals. It’s been a long time since we had a main striker who can score 30 or 40 goals per year,” he added.

“But if you can get that and the others can achieve the calculations that are also expected, we have a good chance.”

Praising Cristiano Ronaldo’s Role

In particular, Solskjaer praised the role of Cristiano Ronaldo. According to Solskjaer, CR7 is still one of the best strikers.

“He deserves credit for his physical condition. But what’s more impressive is that when he gets as much as he has he is still hungry. His mentality is still very precise,” said Solskjaer.

“Cristiano Ronaldo is also still one of the fastest players in the league and I am happy with his physical condition. However, of course returning to the Premier League will probably be more intense than Spain and Italy, so we have to manage his workload.”
