DBasia.news – Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is relieved his team can prevent a record of successive defeats with a convincing 4-1 win over the guest, Newcastle United in the Boxing Day match of the English Premier League at Old Trafford.
“I think we did well today. Of course, when we were behind 0-1 there were a lot of doubts,” Solskjaer said.
“Even so, this season we lost a game but did not repeat it in the next match. So the response was very good,” he added.
Victory over Newcastle brought MU back to the best track to reach the top four of the English League.
In the previous match, Manchester United was shocked by the gatekeeper team, Watford when defeated 0-2 on a trip to Vicarage Road.
“It was a good day. We made things quite comfortable and in the second half I think the concentration of the two teams was divided with the next match in two days,” he said.
“There are no blemishes in the character of the players. They have the ability and never give up,” said Solskjaer completes.
Thanks to the additional three points, Manchester United are now surging up to seventh position standings with 28 points and now only four points adrift of the top four-zone.
