Solskjaer talks about Sancho and Varane’s chances of appearing in the Premier League’s opening match

DBasia.news – Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane have not joined Manchester United’s pre-season. This threatens the chances of both appearing in the 2021-2022 Premier League opener.

Manchester United started their work in the new Premier League season on Saturday (14/8). Paul Pogba and his team mates will host Leeds United at Old Trafford.

The Manchester United stars who appeared in the final of the European Cup and Copa America have returned to Carrington since earlier this week. They were even immediately demoted when the Red Devils won 4-0 over Everton on Saturday (7/8)’

However, Sancho is still undergoing private training. This of course makes the public wonder.

Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer explains Sancho’s latest news. The former Borussia Dortmund player is only scheduled to join on Monday (9/8) tomorrow.

Sancho seems to be receiving extra time off. He did have time to complete the process of moving first after appearing in the European Cup final.

“Jadon joined on Monday and hopefully he’s in good shape and can be involved (in the Premier League opener),” Solskjaer told the club’s official website.

Sancho’s appearance with Manchester United has indeed made many people wonder. He is believed to have a big impact on Solskjaer’s attack pattern.

Sancho’s opportunity to appear in the Premier League’s opening match is still quite likely. Maybe he will first play the role of a substitute.

Varane’s fate

Meanwhile, Varane’s chances to appear against Leeds are smaller. The former Real Madrid defender has not even undergone a medical test.

Varane’s move is indeed a bit of a problem. But he is now in the UK and undergoing quarantine.

“He (Varane) had to wait for a visa and unfortunately it took a few days longer than expected but we will follow protocol and rules so it will take a few more days than we expected,” added Solskjaer.

“Hopefully we get Raphael and Jadon into the group soon. It’s important for us when you sign two players like that.”
