Solskjaer’s Comment after Man United’s 0-1 Defeat to Barcelona at Old Trafford

DBasia.news –  Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, commented on his team’s 0-1 defeat in Barcelona in the Champions League quarter-final first leg at Old Trafford, Thursday (11/4) WIB.

According to Man United’s 46-year-old manager, the Red Devils can still score goals and try again to make a comeback when playing at Camp Nou, Wednesday (17/4) 02.00 a.m. WIB. It is important for Man United players to keep a positive thought.

“We played against a great team. The game (at Camp Nou) will be difficult – we will go there with the thought that we can score. We go there with one thing in mind: we have to score,” Solskjaer said, quoted from BBC Sport.

Again, the dramatic comeback over PSG (Paris Saint-Germain) in the second leg of the last 16 of Champions League was the reason for Solskjaer’s conviction that something similar would happen again at Barcelona’s headquarters. Despite the fact, Solskjaer also understands it won’t be easy to do it against one of the favorite teams of the championship this season.

“The performance against PSG gave us hope and the confidence that we could do it (comeback), but we played against one of the favorite teams (champions),” added Solskjaer, who believes his team would make the biggest achievement if they made a successful comeback.

Meanwhile Solskjaer’s colleague, Ernesto Valverde, did not want to be conceited with an away goal brought by his team from Old Trafford. Man United is still very dangerous and is believed by Valverde, to have the same strong motivation as against PSG.

“See what they have done in Paris, you just need to see what they are doing there – the results have not been determined. They are a strong team and when they put pressure on us, they gave us dificulty,” Valverde added.

“Football is a funny sport, it’s filled with everything. It’s hard to move the ball when they are aggressive because of their pressure. We already think the game will be very difficult and 1-0 does not determine anything.”

One of the main things that Solskjaer must fix before the second leg is the ability to finish on the front lines. United released 10 attempted kicks and no one was on target and tested Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
