Southampton Will Penalize Supporter Who Mocked Sala

DBasia.news –  Southampton plans to punish two supporters who mocked Cardiff City fans for the death of attacker, Emiliano Sala.

Emiliano Sala is a Cardiff City player who was victime in a plane crash.

Southampton played a match against Cardiff City at Saint Mary’s Stadium. Before the kick-off party, players and supporters in the stadium paid an homage for a brief moment. In this match, Cardiff reaped a 2-1 victory over the hosts.

However, during the match there was an inappropriate incident shown by a number of Southampton supporters. One of which was making a plane gesture with the intention of taunting Cardiff fans.

“There is no room in our game for such an attitude and will not be tolerated at Saint Mary. “Southampton FC can confirm that the two fans have been arrested and details about them have been obtained by the police during the match against Cardiff City,” wrote the official Southampton statement.

“The club will continue to work with the Hampshire police to identify each individual who is considered to have committed a gesture of indecency towards Cardiff supporters. The club will take a stand against anyone involved and punish identified supporters. “

After the match the coach of the team nicknamed The Bluebirds, Neil Warnock, expressed his pride in his foster children.

We want to do it for Emiliano Sala and I’m proud that the players have managed to do it,” he said.
