DBasia.news – Ivan Perisic caused quite a commotion with Inter Milan when he requested a transfer during the final winter stock transfer. Perisic allegedly wanted to play in the Premier League with Arsenal.
Inter’s CEO, Giuseppe Marotta explains Perisic’s desires to leave to the press and has caused a restlessness in the player’s locker room. Inter’s coach, Luciano Spalletti even reserved Perisic when the team lost 0-1 to Torino in the Serie A last week.
Arsenal was right to give the offer to Inter. Although, the coming offer wasn’t in accordance with Nerazzurri’s wishes. Arsenal offered loaning options with a permanent choice at the end of the contract. Plus also, Mesut Ozil. Inter only wants the permanent transfer of 40 million Euros.
Eventually the negotiation came to a halt and Perisic stayed with the club he defended since 2015. Spaletti gave him a second chance to show his commitment and understood the situation he was dealing with.
“There’s news in the transfer stock, but he’s a professional player, understanding his role and the other day his mood was different. These things happens in the transfer stock, players receive offers and are tempted,” says Spaletti to football-italia.
“Even so, he has come to a realization that the offer wasn’t true, and was cornered, and then took a step back. Now he (Perisic) will perpetuate a training and will soon focus on Inter, we will let him play.”
Spalletti didn’t blame Perisic for the transfer polemic, in fact Marotta was the one to “pour the oil onto the flames” with the rumor he spread to the public. According to him, Juventus’ former CEO, caused the commotion in the club’s locker room.
“I have no idea whether it was a good idea or not to say that Perisic was leaving, but players receive important offers and say they are opened to it,” added Spalletti.
“When I realized the offer was not what it seems, he took a step back, but the damage is done. Announcing the situation will only cause tension between himself and the team. Now he is back on the team, but will need some time to recover (to be like the old times),” he added.
Inter has not removed one player since the winter transfer stock. However, La Beneamata gained Cedric Soares from Southampton with the loan status and a permanent option at the end of the season. Portugal’s right-wing-defender loan was worth 500.000 pounds with an option to buy worth 9,5 million pounds.
