Sporting CP will sign Ronaldo again

DBasia.news – Ruben Amorim, coach of Sporting CP, says his team are dreaming of being able to re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo, although he admits it will be challenging due to the demands of the superstar’s high salary.

In a press conference ahead of the Champions League match against Tottenham Hotspur, Amorim revealed this. He then tried to spill rumors of Ronaldo’s possible return, citing the player’s high salary as a major stumbling block.

“Ronaldo is a top player, a Manchester United player,” Amorim said. “I will answer in the same way as many journalists in Portugal who ask me a lot of questions. He is a Manchester United player.”

“Everyone at Sporting dreams of Cristiano’s return, but we don’t have the money to pay his salary. I think he is happy in Manchester but not playing so that’s the problem.”

Ronaldo famously started his career at the Lisbon club in the 2002/03 season, and is rumored to be making a sensational return given the uncertain start to the 2022/23 season. He did not feature in United’s 2-0 win over Tottenham, seeing him eliminated from Erik Ten Hag’s squad in the 1-1 draw with Chelsea.

After some time out, Ronaldo is hoping to feature in the Europa League clash against the Sheriffs on Friday (10/28) WIB, where they need a draw to secure qualification.

The Red Devils will then face West Ham in the Premier League this weekend.
