DBasia.news – AC Milan coach, Stefano Pioli and his assistant, Giacomo Murelli, have recovered from Covid-19. They will return to accompany their team against Celtic in the fifth match of the Europa League at the San Siro, Thursday night local time or Friday morning, December 4, 2020.

Pioli and his assistant, Giacomo Murelli, have been infected with the corona virus since mid-November. Since then their roles have been temporarily replaced by Daniele Bonera as they had to undergo independent isolation.

The certainty of the recovery of Pioli and his assistant was confirmed directly by Milan. The coach is even scheduled to lead the Rossoneri’s training on Wednesday (2/12) local time.

“AC Milan announces that coach Stefano Pioli and his deputy, Giacomo Murelli have tested negative on yesterday’s swab,” wrote Milan’s official statement.

“Pioli and Murelli will direct today’s training session and be on the bench again in the Europa League match between Milan and Celtic.”

Pioli’s absence did not affect Milan’s performance. The three games under Bonera have ended in two wins and one draw.

But Pioli’s return is certainly an added motivation for Milan. Moreover, their position is not really safe to advance to the knockout phase.

Milan are currently in second place in group H. Il Diavolo Rosso are only one point ahead of Sparta Prague, who are below.

The victory over Celtic will pave the way for Milan to qualify from the group phase. At least they don’t need to appear all-out when they play the last match later.
