DBasia.news – Manchester United assistant manager, Steve McClaren has confirmed that in the past week he and Erik ten Hag have finalized a strategy for next season. McClaren also admitted that he was looking forward to working with Ten Hag on the field.
As previously noted, Steve McClaren has recently been confirmed to return to Manchester United to play the role of Erik ten Hag’s assistant. McClaren himself is no stranger to Manchester United as he underwent three seasons as assistant to Sir Alex Ferguson. Even McClaren has also worked with Ten Hag at FC Twente.
Later, McClaren confirmed that over the past week he had begun working with Ten Hag and Mitchell van der Gaag to finalize the team’s strategy for next season. McClaren also admitted that he was looking forward to working with Ten Hag on the field.
“In the last seven days he has devoted everything to putting together a detailed team plan,” McClaren said.
“He worked on all the details just a few days after winning with Ajax. He went straight to the next task, just like Sir Alex Ferguson did. We just want to support Erik’s performance and make him a success with the team.”
“His work ethic and attention to detail has been demonstrated in the last seven days where he has practically met every member of staff who will be working and has detailed work plans for each one.”
“I’m not only happy to be back at Man United, I’m also glad to be working with Erik again. And during the week with Mitchell, a great coach and support from John Murtough we can start training with the players in mid-June.”
“This is a new start. I know Erik is looking forward to it. It’s great to be able to catch up for the last seven days and build a stronger bond. Hopefully we can make a great team on the pitch and give satisfactory results,” he concluded.
