Steven Gerrard fired from Aston Villa

DBasia.news – Reportedly, Aston Villa dismissed manager, Steven Gerrard shortly after his team lost 3-0 against Fulham in the Premier League.

Gerrard’s dismissal was predictable as the club he worked for were bottom of the table and in poor form, with them obtaining just 9 points from 11 games.

Villa are now in 17th place and are level on points with 18th-placed, Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Gerrard’s dismissal was confirmed in a statement on the club’s official website, which read: “Aston Villa FC can confirm that manager Steven Gerrard has left the club with immediate effect.”

A club spokesman added: “We would like to thank Steven for his hard work and commitment and wish him all the best for the future.

With a lot of purchase activity last summer, Villa are expected to break into the middle of the league. However, their performance was not as bright as in the market and Gerrad had to make up for it all according to this decline. The former Liverpool captain became the fourth manager to be sacked in the Premier League in the 2022/23 season, after Scott Parker, Thomas Tuchel and Bruno Lage.

Under Gerrard, Aston Villa have won just one of their 19 Premier League games when conceding the first goal.

Villa will start life without Gerrard on Sunday against Brentford in the Premier League.
