DBasia.news – PSG (Paris Saint-Germain)’s priorities have now changed after becoming a star in the 2021 summer transfer market, especially after signing Lionel Messi. When FFP (Financial Fair Play) threatened, PSG tried to sell at least five players.
Mauricio Pochettino’s PSG have signed six players so far: four free and two from other clubs. Achraf Hakimi (60 million euros) and Danilo Pereira (16 million euros) are the two names bought from Inter Milan and Porto.
PSG only spent money (76 million euros) to sign the two, while the remaining four with big names such as: Sergio Ramos, Lionel Messi, Georginio Wijnaldum and Gianluigi Donnarumma were recruited free of charge.
Free but not cheap especially if you look at the nominal salary they receive, of course Lionel Messi (34 years) who has won six Ballon d’Or and four Champions League titles receives the biggest salary.
PSG’s large expenditure makes them in danger of violating FFP rules, no doubt according to Marca PSG’s current priority is selling several players in the squad. Names such as Kylian Mbappe, Neymar, Marquinhos and Marco Verratti are not included in it.
Who Can They Sell?
So far PSG have only sold Mitchel Bakker to Bayer Leverkusen for seven million euros, and loaned Alphonse Areola to West Ham United for two million euros. According to Le Parisien, there are five players that PSG will sell.
Starting from Thilo Kehrer who can make other clubs alert. The 24-year-old defender is valued at 25 million euros at Transfermarkt and can be sold by PSG, as competition at the back is fierce with Marquinhos, Presnel Kimpembe, Hakimi and Ramos.
Then there is Pablo Sarabia who was previously recruited from Seville. He started Spain at Euro 2020, but the 29-year-old can leave for 25 million euros and PSG already have a lot of players in his position (attacking midfielder to winger).
So did Julian Draxler. The German winger has played for four years at PSG but has never been a regular, but rather has been rotated. The nominal value of the former Schalke player is 20 million euros.
His last two names are La Masia’s product in the midfield position, Rafinha, and French left back Layvin Kurzawa. The five players will try to be sold by PSG before the transfer window closes on August 31, 2021.
