DBasia.news – Real Madrid are still trying to find the successor of their megastar who moved to Juventus, Cristiano Ronaldo. Not only from the playing position, El Real are looking for a striker that could score at least 40 goals for each season.
It’s not an easy task, considering there are few football players with scoring productivity like Ronaldo. Spanish media, Marca, conducted the survey by showing Ronaldo’s successor candidates from Robert Lewandowski, Rodrigo, Mauro Icardi, to Harry Kane.
And guess who is the winner? Yes, he is the 2018 World Cup top scorer, Harry Kane. As reported by Marca, at least 200.000 people or 26 percent of the voters wanted Kane as Ronaldo’s successor. While Icardi and Cavani just got 14 percent vote.
The supporters are right. In fact, since starting his debut with Tottenham Hotspur back in 2014/2015, Kane proved that he isn’t just a one-season wonder. The 24-year-old striker has the effectivity to score many goals.
The trio of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) Neymar, Kylian Mbappe, and Edinson Cavani didn’t include in the list of Ronaldo’s successor because Madrid has stated in their official site to not offer Neymar or Mbappe. While Cavani, El Real weren’t too interested in him.
Julen Lopetegui, Madrid coach, could maximize Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema to score the goal. But, the goals from both of them in last season just 33 goals, far behind Ronaldo’s 44 goals by himself. Madrid supporters believe Kane has the solution in filling the gap left by Ronaldo.
