DBasia.news – Terengganu FC (TFC) coach, Irfan Bakti Abu Salim, admitted he was a bit angry with the performance of his attacking strikes which left a row of opportunities to blow up more networks while serving the neighboring squad, Kelantan last night in a Super League action at the Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium.
Irfan Bakti, however, did not want to blame his player 100 percent for failing but he was grateful for the target to score three points after a 2-0 win over the Red Warriors squad, captain Kipre Tchetche and Muhammad Kamal Azizi Mohd Zabri in each round .
The 67-year-old coach said that a lot of goals were needed for his team in the quest for the third best in the Super League stage as the rivals to win the game were still open and now focused on four other teams – Perak, Pahang, PKNS FC and Kedah.
“We need a lot of goals tonight (yesterday) and let’s say we’re lacking in the network, if we see our network record is nearly equal to 32 with 29 goals and 21 matches.
“We ought to be on the night (yesterday) that we have a bigger network of between five or six goals because the chances are open for players to do this including a penalty kick that failed to complete Tchetche, but unfortunately, the players could not do it.
“Whatever we are pleased with is that victory is timely on the mission to pursue a better position in the league and congratulations for players who have done as well as possible in the final action on their own home.
“But I expect action in the final to meet with Selangor next Sunday at their place, players need to be sharper as well as using the opportunities available to make the network to win a win and let the rivals to hunt for the top three more fierce among five teams,” said Irfan Bakti.
The squad, known as Peteh Terengganu Peteh, is now ranked fourth in the league and shares 34 points with Pahang who is third and Perak is second with 36 points behind leaders Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT). 56 points.
