DBasia.news – Negeri Sembilan youth scorer, N Thanabalan, has been disappointed in not being able to help the team remain in the Super League next season after being beaten by Kuala Lumpur, 1-2, at a fixture at the Kuala Lumpur Football Stadium in Cheras on Sunday.

The 23-year-old, who did not play in the match due to lack of fitness, acknowledged the performance and achievement of Hobin Jang Hobin’s squad this season was unlikely to be expected by fans.

“We are aware that the team’s achievement this season is unlikely to be expected if it fails to maintain its position in the Super League for next season.

“I and my friends are disappointed with the achievement, but we’ve been working and trying our best to defend the dignity of the team, but it did not work.

“Personally, I apologize to the fans and will continue to fight for the final league game against Melaka United this weekend,” he said here today.

Negeri Sembilan will again compete in the Premier League next season after being in the top two bottom-placed leagues this season, despite still remaining one game.

The team that had previously played in the Premier League for four consecutive seasons since 2014, returned to the Super League this season due to the approval of the Football League of Malaysia (MFL) license rather than merit.

However, the opportunity failed to be exploited by the squad’s squad when they simply placed the team in the top two bottom-placed teams.

Thanabalan who came back with the Rusa squad after joining FELCRA FC last season said his focus was to regain the best fitness level to face the clash with Melaka United, at his own home this Saturday.

According to him, if he is disqualified, his team will try to help Mario Lemos’s guidance team  to win the match, to ensure that the chance to play in the Malaysia Cup is not missed.

“If I have a chance to play, I will try to give the best and help to win so that the team will have the chance to compete in Malaysia Cup,” he said.

Under the rules set out, a team from the Super League will be out of competition in the Malaysia Cup and currently struggling between Negeri Sembilan and Kelantan.
