DBasia.news – Pahang’s goal keeper, Helmi Eliza Elias thanked Dollah Salleh who believes in his ability to control the last fortress of the squad this season.

Helmi, who is also a former national goalkeeper, said the trust given by coach Tok Gajah  motivated him to perform at the best level.

“For me, he is not just a coach, but a father and friend encouraging me to go back to the best of the game.

“When I was given the opportunity to control the team’s goal this season, as an experienced player, I gave everything.

“I am grateful for that belief that resulted in the FA Cup being awarded to us this season and will be ready to take on the Malaysian Cup campaign,” he said.

When asked if he was ready to be called to be in the national team, Helmi said he would not reject the offer because the last time he represented the country was in 2008.

“With the experience, of winning at the AFF tournament in Thailand 2008 in the national team, I am ready to return if given confidence,” said the 35-year-old.

This season, Helmi, who is also a former goalkeeper of Kedah, became the main bet for Dollah to control the squad of Tok Gajah.

Helmi joined Tok Gajah’s squad in 2016 and started his career with Kedah from 2002 to 2012, followed by Felda United FC (2013), Royal Malaysian Police (2014) and Negeri Sembilan.
