The Club Manager Agreed Upon the Liga 1 Termination

DBasia.news – Before the charity match of Arema FC against Madura United began, the manager of Liga 1 clubs also formulating the pledge requesting some matters to PSSI and agreed to support the competition termination until the situation has been settled.

As we know, in the beginning, the match between Arema FC against Madura United was the effort from both teams to gather the charity for the family of Haringga Sirla, a Persija supporter who died before the match between Persib Bandung against Persija Jakarta on September 23.

“We agreed to gather here (Malang) for 5 or 10 minutes. Everyone attended to declare the pledge,” said the spokesperson of Liga 1 team managers, Haruna Soemitro.

Not only Madura United and Arema FC club officials, the pledge that declared in the main lobby of Kanjuruhan Stadium was also attended by 17 of 18 Liga 1 clubs. Only PSM Makassar missed the event, while the other club officials declared the pledge called “Sepak Bola Tanpa Membunuh, Selamatkan Sepak Bola Kita”.

They were Iwan Budianto (vice chairman of PSSI and CEO Arema FC), I Gede Widiade (Persija Jakarta director), Teddy Cahyono (Persib Bandung director), Peter Tanuri (CEO Bali United), Bento Madubun (Persipura Jayapura assistant manager), and Candra Wahyudi (Persebaya Surabaya manager).

“We in Liga 1, condemned and asked everyone to stop it. We realized that supporters are the base where we begin, also the last foundation,” quoted the point from the pledge.
