‘The Cops’ remains confident

DBasia.news – PDRM remains confident of being able to challenge the three selected teams in Group B, Malaysia Cup although the squad is labeled not an option to advance to the quarter-finals.

PDRM coach Mohd Fauzi Pilus said shock was still feasible on FELDA United, PKNS and Melaka United (MU) although they have many advantages over The Cops.

He said on paper the squad was difficult to compete but it was not impossible for his men to do better to look into one slot to the quarter-finals.

“After losing to the Super League next season to reach the fifth place of the Premier League, the rivals are seen to be the best performers for the redeemed,” he said.

Mohd Fauzi, who took over from Head Coach, Zulhamizan Zakaria, also hoped the action at the Hang Jebat Stadium, Paya Rumput as the host’s venue brought luck to the squad to surprise.

“We have gone to the 2016 Malaysia Cup semi-final at the venue, so it is not impossible for the spirit to come back though only a few players remain with the squad this time.

“What’s important is that the players do not respect the integrity of the three teams, they must be prepared to defend the fort, dominate the center and score goals.

“The first focus to face PKNS in Paya Rumput this Sunday is a priority for the players to ensure valuable eye-catching points and strikers are thought to be wise to steal the net and defenses are immune to leakage,” he said.
