The debut of the Third Generation Maldini Family at AC Milan

DBasia.news –  Daniel Maldini made his debut with AC Milan when competing against Hellas Verona in Serie A. He became the third generation of the Maldini dynasty to play at the Rossoneri.

The 18-year-old midfielder is the third generation of the Maldini family, following in the footsteps of the legendary duo Paolo and Cesare as his father and grandfather, who also defended the Rossoneri banner.

The young Maldini has been a part of the Milan squad since the preseason 2019/20 but must wait until the second round of the season to make his first appearance.

His debut came in the 93rd minute, in a match against Hellas Verona which ended in a 1-1 draw.

“My debut is a dream, but it is unfortunate the end result,” Maldini said.

“We should be able to perform better, but there is still a lot of emotion.”

“Verona is a tough team, we deserve three points but we only achieved a draw. Hopefully, we win the next match.”

Maldini debuted 35 years after his father Paolo and 66 years after his grandfather Cesare.

“This debut is a target that I set personally, now we hope to continue like this. I feel strong emotions, but my father convinced me,” he continued.

His grandfather, Cesare, who died in 2016, played 12 seasons with Milan and successfully won four Serie A titles and one Champions League.

While his father, Paolo, who now serves as the club’s technical director, has a collection of seven Scudetto and five Champions League trophies.
