The hidden blessing in Manchester United’s absence in the Champions League for Solskjaer

DBasia.news – Despite wanting the Champions League, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is still grateful for Manchester United’s progress in the Europa League. There are things Solskjaer can do that might not have happened if United played in the Champions League.

Manchester United did not receive a 2019-2020 Champions League ticket after only finishing sixth in the Premier League final standings. David de Gea and his colleagues collected 66 points in 38 matches.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made good use of Manchester United’s absence from the Champions League. Solskjaer gave the young players the opportunity to show off.

“If we are in the Champions League this season, of course we want it. However, maybe we will not have the chance to play as many players as Brandon Williams at this time. Even with Mason Greenwood and other young players who have started fantastic careers,” said Solskjaer as reported by the Manchester Evening News.

One of the events that became the stage for Manchester United’s young players to appear is the Europa League. Currently, Man United has set foot in the quarter-finals.

“The Europa League is always about keeping the team together, having a group that works together, and giving opportunities to players. Brandon Williams will sit next to me and will appear in the Europa League quarter-finals. It will be a great achievement for him this season.”

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer feels that Manchester United are in the right direction to get back on track. Solskjaer found much progress on the principle side.

“We have grown throughout the season. We have a squad that is working together and of course there have been some changes to the January transfer market that make it even stronger.”

Manchester United will face FC Copenhagen in the 2019-2020 Europa League quarter-finals, at RheinEnergieStadion, Tuesday (11/8) AM.
