DBasia.news – FIFA decided to hold the 2022 World Cup in Qatar since November to December, as announced by the President, Gianni Infantino, Friday (13/7).
The Qatar World Cup will be held since November 21 to December 18, 2022. It means that the next World Cup won’t be held in summer like usually occurred in the mid-year (June-July).
The change of schedule is to anticipate extreme weather in Qatar during summer.
“The dates for the World Cup are set. It will be played in Qatar from 21 November to 18 December 2022,” said Infantino.
“The leagues are all aware and they will have to adapt their calendars as a consequence.”
“In the end, it is the right decision. It cannot be played in June and July and in November and December the players are very well prepared because it is almost the beginning of the season.”
