DBasia.news – The story of Cristiano Ronaldo’s absence when Juventus were up against the K-League All Stars has been on going. According to Corriere dello Sport, the promoter of the match, The Fasta, demanded compensation from Juventus.
Ronaldo, 34, missed the match which ended in a 3-3 draw at Sangam Stadium on Friday (7/26). The Portuguese player only warmed up the bench and this disappointed South Korean football fans.
Juventus allegedly violated an agreement with TheFasta who had to play Ronaldo for at least 45 minutes. The Juventus themselves have apologized to TheFasta and said the reason for not playing Ronaldo was due to his unfit physical condition.
Understandably, considering that Juventus has experienced major obstacles in South Korea. First, the Juventus squad arrived in South Korea seven hours before the match began, then second, they were stuck in traffic until the game was postponed for 50 minutes.
“We sincerely apologize to fans as Ronaldo did not play in the match, even though he was later suspected of having a muscle problem. We will be more careful in the future to no longer disappoint K-League fans,” wrote the K-League statement.
The absence of Ronaldo’s controversy in South Korea has been attention-grabbing. South Korean fans were disappointed as he did not play and shouted “Lionel Messi’s” slogans to insinuate him.
It is understandable if they are disappointed, the reason is that the ticket reached 400,000 won, equivalent to Rp. 4.7 million (not cheap). Most of them wanted to see Ronaldo in action
“Ronaldo is expected to play today, but he is unfit because his muscles are exhausted. I have spoken with Andrea Agnelli and Ronaldo before the game and has agreed to rest,” said Maurizio Sarri, Juventus coach at the time.
Not a good impression of course for Juventus in maintaining good relations with fans of clubs in South Korea.
