DBasia.news – Not even a season away from defending Real Madrid, Thibaut Courtois has felt really great pressure to play for the prestigious clubs in Europe.
As is known, Courtois has officially become part of the Madrid squad in the 2017 summer transfer market. The management of Madrid recruited Courtois from Chelsea with a dowry of 35 million euros or approximately Rp 556 billion.
Courtois’ presence was greeted enthusiastically by Madrid fans. But from a number of matches that have passed, Courtois in fact hasn’t shown his best performance in guarding the Madrid goal.
Courtois also revealed the reason behind not having his best form of play with Madrid yet so far. The Belgian national team goalkeeper admitted that he felt tremendous pressure to date.
“The goalkeeper has always been the last person to try to stop the opponent’s goal and there is always a lot of pressure because there is no slightest room for errors,” Courtois said, as quoted from AS, Tuesday (02/12/2019).
“On many occasions, if the goalkeeper made a mistake, it almost certainly ended with the opponent’s goal. There is always pressure, and here at Real Madrid it’s the same. I think there are not many changes from goal to goal (other clubs),” added the 26-year-old player.
