Thierry Henry Joins Indonesian Billionaire’s Club

DBasia.news – Thierry Henry, Arsenal legend, is reportedly just one step away from purchasing a share of Serie B club Como.

As reported by Sky Italia, Henry has traveled to Italy to sign a contract.

After retiring in 2015, Henry pursued a career as a coach. He started coaching Arsenal’s academy team, while commenting on Sky Sports. A year later, he was appointed assistant coach of the Belgian national team, before taking up the role of head coach at Monaco in 2018.

Having coached MLS club Montreal Impact in the 2019–2021 period, Henry has now returned to his role as assistant coach of Belgium under head coach Roberto Martinez.

Como is owned by the Djarum Group, which is led by billionaires from Indonesia, Michael Hartono and Robert Budi Hartono.

Since acquiring Como in 2019, the club nicknamed I Lariani has successfully penetrated the second tier of the Italian League with the status of champions of the 2020/21 Serie C season.

Last season, coach Giacomo Gattuso’s squad finished 13th out of 20 teams in Serie B.

Former Chelsea captain, Dennis Wise, serves as CEO and is responsible for the club’s investments.
