Thomas Tuchel admits he often talks about Erling Haaland

DBasia.news – Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel does not deny that his club is interested in signing Erling Haaland. The young Norwegian striker is expected to leave Borussia Dortmund next summer.

In his contract with Dortmund, Haaland has a sell clause of 66 million pounds in 2022. Apart from Chelsea, Haaland is also often linked with other big European clubs such as Manchester United, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint Germain.

For Chelsea, Haaland has long been on their shopping list. Chelsea had been targeting Haaland before finally purchasing Romelu Lukaku for 97.5 million pounds.

“We’ve discussed Erling Haaland several times, including during the transfer window. But it turned out later that it became completely unrealistic and totally unfeasible,” the Chelsea boss told Bild.

“Of course we talk about him a lot. He’s a fantastic player and obviously a decisive figure at Dortmund who is our biggest enemy in the Champions League,” Tuchel continued.

“I didn’t think we were serious at the time, but we’ll see what happens in the next few weeks,” Tuchel said.

The hunt for Haaland is likely to intensify in January with more and more clubs targeting him.
