Thomas Tuchel and Antonio Conte Are Officially Sentenced, But The Sentences Are Different

DBasia.news – Thomas Tuchel and Antonio Conte have been officially suspended by the FA for incidents following Chelsea’s match against Tottenham Hotspur last weekend. However, the punishment for the two is not the same.

Chelsea contra Tottenham duel on August 14 last indeed took place fiercely. High tension is not only presented on the field but also on the bench.

The two managers came close to fighting after Tottenham equalized at 1-1 through Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s goal. Conte’s over-celebration towards the Chelsea bench was the cause.

Tuchel then countered the provocation by running past Conte and the Tottenham bench after Reece James had restored Chelsea’s lead. Although Harry Kane in the end forced the match to end in a 2-2 draw.

The peak of the feud between the two occurred when the two shook hands after the referee blew the long whistle. Tuchel looked unhappy with Conte’s attitude of not looking at him.

Tuchel and Conte then engaged in pushing each other until they had to be separated by the officials and the players. The referee then gave a red card to both.

The FA has investigated the incident. As a result, Tuchel is considered to be the trigger of the feud with Conte.

The FA also imposed a fine of 35,000 pounds to Tuchel. The German national was also banned from accompanying his team to compete.

While Conte received a lighter sentence. He was only fined 15 thousand pounds without any ban accompanying the team.

This decision made Tuchel unable to sit on the bench when Chelsea met Leeds United. While Conte can still accompany Tottenham when dealing with Wolverhampton.

Not yet known the response of the club and the two managers regarding this punishment. It is not impossible for Tuchel to appeal to ease the sanctions.
