Thomas Tuchel becomes Victim of Chelsea’s revolution

DBasia.news – Thomas Tuchel, the German manager, is the second Premier League club to be sacked after Scott Parker was fired from Bournemouth. Thomas Tuchel was finally dismissed after Chelsea lost against Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League.

“Chelsea Football Club has today parted ways with Head Coach Thomas Tuchel,” said a statement on Chelsea’s official website.

“On behalf of everyone at Chelsea FC, the Club would like to express its gratitude to Thomas and his staff for all their efforts during their time with the club. Thomas will have a place in Chelsea’s history having won the Champions League, Super Cup and Club World Cup during his time here.”

“As the new ownership group reaches 100 days since taking over the club, and as they continue to work hard to take the club forward, the new owners believe this is the right time to make this transition.”

“Chelsea’s coaching staff will be responsible for the team’s training and preparation for our upcoming matches as the Club moves swiftly to appoint a new head coach. There will be no further comment until the appointment of a new head coach is made.”

Tuchel was dismissed after six Premier League games and one Champions League game. In all competitions this season, Chelsea have lost three, drawn once and won three and are sixth in the Premier League.

The signs of the former-Borussia Dortmund and PSG (Paris Saint-Germain) dismissal had already been seen, with fan-questioned selection of players, inconsistent play and the fact Tuchel repeatedly blamed his players.

In addition, the new owners of Chelsea, Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital, have been eager to recruit players in the summer of 2022 from Raheem Sterling, Kalidou Koulibaly, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, to the most expensive signing of Wesley Fofana.

Anthony Barry will be Tuchel’s interim replacement until the club finds a new manager. Matt Law believed in the Telegraph, Tuchel was fired as a victim of the Boehly revolution plus his relationship with the players was no longer cordial.

“Sources also claim that Tuchel’s relationship with a number of the Chelsea squad has deteriorated, while his team selection has caused surprise and, at times, frustration among players who feel they have been unfairly left out or played out of position. That was evident in Zagreb.”

Evidence of Todd Boehly’s revolution can be seen with the departure of Bruce Buck, Marina Granovskaia, Petr Cech, and Scott McLachlan, who became the legacy of the previous owner, Roman Abramovich.

Thomas Tuchel’s record at Chelsea is 62 wins, 19 draws and 18 defeats. Appointed in January 2021, Tuchel successfully won the Champions League, European Super Cup, Club World Cup. Last season Chelsea finished third in the Premier League and reached the FA Cup and League Cup finals.
