DBasia.news – Chelsea coach, Thomas Tuchel, welcomed the draw for the English League Cup semi-final against Tottenham Hotspur. Tuchel can’t wait to meet The Lilywhites.
Chelsea advanced to the semi-finals of the English League Cup after beating Brentford 2-0 in the quarter-finals. Both of Chelsea’s goals were scored by Pontus Jansson (80′, OG) and Jorginho (85′, P).
Based on the results of the draw, Chelsea will play against Tottenham. Meanwhile, Arsenal will meet Liverpool.
“With four strong teams, it will obviously be a challenging draw. However, Tottenham are good for our supporters. It is the London derby and we are looking forward to it,” said Tuchel as reported by the Independent.
“Given the situation, we showed a brilliant performance and result. We are disciplined, structured, and have individual qualities. Good job for the players. I am thrilled,” stated Tuchel.
Tuchel also gave the opportunity for three academy players namely Harvey Vale, Jude Soonsup-Bell, and Xavier Simons to show off. This step is inseparable from the storm of injuries and Covid-19 that hit the Blues.
“Those three players did well. They didn’t play for a week because the academy was closed. Then, we invited them to train together in two days.”
“They listened carefully and did their job. In addition, seven people played to support them. They did well and were involved in a good performance,” explained Thomas Tuchel.
