Thomas Tuchel comments on Everton’s goal

DBasia.news – Chelsea coach, Thomas Tuchel, revealed thoughts after only playing 1-1 against Everton. Tuchel insists, Chelsea conceded from a situation that was difficult to avoid.

Initially, the Blues scored first through Mason Mount in the 70th minute. However, four minutes later, Jarrad Branthwaite brought Everton equal at 1-1. The goal came from Anthony Gordon’s free kick.

Chelsea also failed to keep a clean sheet. Previously, Chelsea conceded eight goals in just three games. Whereas at the beginning of Tuchel’s arrival, the Blues were known as a challenging team to break into.

However, Tuchel does not want to worry too much. According to him, Everton had no chance of gaining goals.

“We defended with no worries. We conceded from set pieces. I can’t punish myself because they didn’t have a chance to score a goal. However, they did it from a free kick,” Tuchel said as reported by the BBC.

“We missed chances and struggled to find a high rhythm in the second half. We didn’t have anyone on the bench. We put the last people we had and lost our personality plus a lot of quality.”

With one point, Chelsea remain in third place in the standings. However, the Blues are four points behind Manchester City who are at the top.

“Liverpool is Liverpool, Manchester City is Manchester City. We did what we could. We had seven players and had a chance to miss the game,” concluded Thomas Tuchel.
