Thomas Tuchel Revives Chelsea’s Performance

DBasia.news – Chelsea continued the momentum of playing under the direction of Thomas Tuchel. Recently The Blues ended their never-winning record at Anfield, Liverpool’s headquarters in the Premier League match.

Chelsea won 1-0 over Liverpool on Friday (05/03) am, WIB through Mason Mount’s single goal in the 42nd minute. Liverpool dominated possession but only once released an opportunity on target which did not really test Edouard Mendy.

Chelsea, who had moved away from the top four, are now back into it. Cesar Azpilicueta and his team mates are fourth in the standings with 47 points, while Liverpool are in seventh place with a collection of 43 points.

Chelsea’s impressive record cannot be separated from the role of the German manager, Thomas Tuchel. Since replacing Frank Lampard in January, Chelsea have improved their playing patterns and confidence.

According to Opta, only Manchester City have won more points (24 points) than Chelsea (18 points) since Tuchel coached the previous eight games. Meanwhile Lampard has only won seven points from his last eight games leading the club.

The victory against Liverpool also ensures Chelsea is unbeaten in the first 10 matches with Tuchel (three draws and seven wins). Plus conceded two goals, eight clean sheets, and scored 11 goals.

“We played with courage, had great moments with the ball, experienced the moments we needed to suffer, never lost the attitude and desire and the victories that deserved and what a performance,” said Tuchel.

“It was a great team performance. They asked a lot of questions and we needed answers. Everyone is very brave and everyone is sharp. It is a six-point game because others have lost. The race has started, there are 11 games to go.”

“We take it step by step. We can never rest and never celebrate, there is no time,” said the former PSG coach.

Chelsea cannot be carried away for too long by the euphoria of the victory at Anfield. The reason is that they will still play against Everton (09/03) and Leeds United (13/03) before playing the second leg of the top 16 of the Champions League against Atletico Madrid (18/03).
