DBasia.news – Paris Saint-Germain coach Thomas Tuchel considered his team were too dependent to the trio-strikers Neymar, Edinson Cavani, and Kylian Mbappe in the match against Liverpool in Matchday 1 of Group C 2018-2019 Champions League at Anfield Stadium, Tuesday (18/9) local time.

Paris Saint-Germain balanced the situation to be 2-2 by the action of Thomas Meunier and Kylian Mbappe. Previously, Daniel Sturridge and James Milner scored two goals for The Reds.

However, approaching the end, PSG’s defense was declining. Roberto Firmino utilized it to score the decisive goal for The Reds.

Tuchel assumed the team performance was too depending on the trio strikers. Consequently, Liverpool players could read Les Parisiens’ strategy easily.

“It’s true that we do expect a lot from our front three and maybe it was tough for them. We have to improve all over the field,” Tuchel said after the match quoted by Soccerway.

“We know the rest of the team work very, very hard to provide those three with chances and to get them in the game. Maybe we could have shown a bit more aggression in that area of the pitch and maybe at times we needed to play a little bit more directly towards goal, more vertically if you like,” the coach emphasized.

Next, PSG will play against Red Star Belgrade on October 3. Neymar and friends shouldn’t be arrogant because Red Star Belgrade played a draw against Napoli with no goal.

“But the season’s just started in terms of the Champions League. Maybe we need to improve our intensity in some areas of the field in games like this but it’s early days in the Champions League and there’s time to improve,” Tuchel revealed.
