DBasia.news – Tommaso Berni went through a unique career journey at Inter Milan. Although he has been with the Nerazzurri since 2014, Berni has never been played.
Inter Milan signed Tommaso Berni from Torino in early July 2014 on a free transfer. The goalkeeper was brought in to fill the position of the third goalkeeper.
Competing with other goalkeepers such as Samir Handanovic, Berni has never made an appearance. On September 1, his contract expired. Inter did not extend the term of service for the goalkeeper.
Although he has never guarded Inter Milan’s goal in an official match, Berni is still elated. He is proud to be a part of Inter Milan.
“I live a dream. I never imagined as a child. I shared a locker room with great players. I will always be grateful to Steven Zhang, Giuseppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio,” said Tommaso Berni on Gianluca Di Marzio’s official website.
Berni’s last appearance was on October 28, 2012 when he guarded Sampdoria’s goal. The situation happened because Berni was only the third goalkeeper.
“I’m doing what has been a dream. I’m doing things I’ve always loved since childhood.”
“Ego is a bad thing. There is a more important goal, which is to win. Then, I am also excited to play a role in helping teammates who are in trouble,” said Tommaso Berni.
“Inter is a dream for me and I try to convey this joy. Sometimes, I am lucky because I am not very famous,” he continued.
Interestingly, even though he had never played, Berni has received two red cards. He was sent off against Cagliari in January and Parma in June.
“When you play, you will focus and not pay attention to anything. However, from the outside it is the opposite. You see everything,” he stated.
Inter Milan is indeed a club that has contributed to Tommaso Berni. The Nerazzurri was home to Berni when he studied football at the age group.
