DBasia.news – Real Madrid midfielder, Toni Kroos admitted that he did not agree with the plans of the European Football Association (UEFA) to organize the European Super Cup. Kroos assessed that the ongoing European level competitions such as the UEFA Nations League have given the players difficulty.
The German player even called the “extra” competition in the Blue Continent treating players like puppets. Nevertheless, he still obeyed the coach of Der Panzer’s squad, Joachim Loew, who called him into the national team.
“Unfortunately, players cannot make decisions. In the end, with all the competitions designed, we are just puppets for FIFA and UEFA. They only think about money,” Kroos said as reported by ESPN, Thursday (12/11).
Kroos, with four Champions League titles and five domestic titles with Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, plus one World Cup title, thinks there is no need for additional competition.
“I want to leave a mark wherever I live. There are already good competitions, for example the Champions League and World Cup,” he stated.
Previously, plans for the European Super League has emerged last month as a companion to the Champions League.
The participants are teams from the Premiere League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, and other top European leagues without any relegation regulations.
