DBasia.news – Cristiano Ronaldo’s transfer from Real Madrid to Juventus is still trending for some football figures. Bayern Munchen President Uli Hoeness criticized the transfer by saying that his club won’t spend that big to sign Ronaldo.
Cristiano Ronaldo came to Juventus during 2018 summer transfer market. La Vecchia Signora signed Ronaldo worth 100 million euro (Rp1,64 trillion).
That’s the most expensive signing of Juventus throughout history. It’s also bringing Cristiano Ronaldo as Italian most expensive player.
The fee excludes Cristiano Ronaldo’s fantastic salary. Juventus must pay the Portugal national team captain worth 30 million euro (Rp494 billion) yearly salary.
The signing makes some clubs criticized Juventus, including Bayern Munchen. Hoeness thinks Ronaldo isn’t that worthy.
“He is already 33, he’s too old. And he would have cost us 100 million euro,” Uli Hoeness told Bild.
“We would have signed Ronaldo with our eyes closed for 100 million euro if he was 24,” Uli Hoeness continued.
This is the second time Bayern Munchen comment about Juventus’ decision to sign Cristiano Ronaldo. Previously, the CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge also told a similar opinion.
Nonetheless, Cristiano Ronaldo proved Juventus did the right thing. The 33-year-old striker has scored 11 goals and 7 assists in 18 matches of all competitions.
