Tottenham made Modric Cancel in Moving to Chelsea

DBasia.news – Luka Modric revealed the moment he canceled to move to Chelsea was because it was made difficult by Tottenham Hotspur boss, Daniel Levy.

Before moving to Real Madrid, Modric was Tottenham’s mainstay playmaker. At one point, Modric received an offer from Chelsea.

The Croatian international player is interested in accepting Chelsea’s offer. However, Levy thwarted the move.

“Levy is fighting for the interests of the club and that’s what a club president has to do. However, there were moments that made me furious with him,” said Modric, quoted by Marca.

“One of them is the failure to move to Chelsea. It is challenging to get permission from Tottenham because Chelsea is a city team,” he continued.

Modric admitted that he failed to leave Spurs twice because of Levy ‘s sudden decision. However, recently the 2018 Ballon d’Or winner understood that what Levy was doing was a form of struggle for Tottenham.

“But after that he allowed me to head to Real Madrid because he promised several times to let me go,” said Modric.

Modric has managed to maintain a place in Los Blancos’ main squad since arriving in 2012. Despite being left out at the start of last season, Modric was able to get back up and become a mainstay of coach Zinedine Zidane.
