DBasia.news – Manchester City wing striker Riyad Mahrez admits that he remembers Leicester City owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha when doing the goal celebration to Tottenham Hotspur on the 10th-week of Premier League.
Mahrez looked up and raised both of his fingers after scoring the decisive goal for City 1-0 victory against Tottenham at Wembley Stadium.
“The boss was very special to me. I spent four and a half years there,” Mahrez said after the match on City’s official Twitter account.
Vichai was one of the five victims in the helicopter crash at King Power Stadium, Leicester, England, Sunday (28/10).
“I have many memories with him. He was such a good person,” Mahrez said.
“That is why when I scored I put my hands in the sky for him. He did a lot for me and Leicester,” he added.
Vichai purchased Leicester in 2010. Under his leadership, The Foxes successfully won the Premier League in 2016.
The Thailand businessman was one of the five people in the helicopter who collapsed right after leaving the King Power Stadium. The helicopter burned into flame in the parking area after the 1-1 match against West Ham United.
